Gov. Walker Appoints New Secretary of the Department of Health Services

On Thursday, Aug. 4, Gov. Scott Walker appointed Linda Seemeyer as the state’s new secretary of the Department of Health Services.

Seemeyer has many years of experience working in local and state government, including serving as director of the Walworth County Department of Health and Human Services from 2007 to 2015. She has also served as the director of the Milwaukee County Department of Administrative Services and deputysecretary of the state Department of Administration.

Walker said Seemeyer’s experience in health and human services at the county level, along with her career in management, makes her the right fit for the job.

Seemeyer, who begins in her new role on Aug. 22, succeeds the late Kitty Rhoades who passed away earlier this summer.
