New State Poll Numbers
St. Norbert College recently released new poll numbers, which predict good outcomes for Hillary Clinton and Russ Feingold in November.
The poll, taken among 664 registered likely Wisconsin voters, has Clinton leading Trump 47 percent to 39 percent. Conducted October 13 through 16, the poll suggests Clinton may have doubled her lead from the week before. The Marquette Law School poll from October 6 through 9 gave Clinton just a four point lead. Some speculate Trump’s 2005 Access Hollywood tape may account for Clinton’s growing lead.
The St. Norbert Poll also shows Russ Feingold growing his lead over Republican Senator Ron Johnson in the Wisconsin Senate race. 52 percent of voters polled said they plan to vote for Russ Feingold, while 40 percent support Senator Johnson. This suggests fast gains for Feingold. The October 6-9 Marquette Law School poll showed Johnson trailing by just 2 percentage points.
While all signs currently point to victories for Clinton and Feingold, there are still two weeks left to Election Day. Both Clinton and Trump will make their final appeals to voters, and the polls could get tighter.
